The General Insurance Council has been constituted under section 64C of the Insurance Act, 1938 since 2001 by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
We are an authoritative collective voice for the non-life insurance industry in India. An important link between the IRDAI and the non-life insurance industry, we highlight the issues faced by the industry with the government.
Our goal is a sustainably profitable and growing non-life insurance industry that contributes to the society and the economy of India.
The Council comprises member companies from a range of reputed non-life insurance firms.
